Housed in an 18th-century palazzo in the heart of Rome, Hotel Unicum is the result of a comprehensive architectural intervention, spanning from concept development to construction management. The project encompassed structural planning, MEP systems, architectural and interior design, with a strong emphasis on lighting design to enhance spatial perception.
In line with the hotel’s identity, each guestroom was entirely custom-designed, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship. The layout integrates open-plan shower and sauna enclosures with freestanding external basins, optimizing functionality while maintaining a seamless visual language. Material continuity is a defining element, culminating in monolithic oak headboards, where volumetric patterns interact with light to create a dynamic interplay of depth and shadow. Each room is distinguished by a unique wood species, reinforcing the hotel’s concept of individuality and offering guests a highly curated, immersive experience.
